Exercise : later ...
Big night at the old white sail asylum yesterday and I didn't get home until midnight and got to bed after 1-00am. Needless to say a 6-00am alarm was always going to be switched off. So no exercise this morning. It is scheduled as a RPM day which means I have to substitute with Cardio Coach because they cancelled the class and I wouldn't have got there at 7-00am anyway. I'll probably try to finish work early and go to the gym and use their bike or maybe just run on the treaddy at home. I'll see how I feel.
Yesterday was another Paleo with lean protein, nuts, fruit and veges. I survived 10 hours on my feet without touching one protein bar - a new record! There were a few hiccups along the way - my berry protein shake tastes FOUL (can't do protein powder with water, I need milk) so I didn't drink it and I left the veggies I had prepared for dinner at home by accident. Luckily the work canteen had roast carrots, zucchini, mushrooms and capsicum on the menu so I had a small container of those with some chicken. I had some yummy fruit salad to finish.
I realised yesterday that the difference between what satisfies me and what doesn't is the temperature of the food. I am one of those people who wants a hot breakfast, toasted bread and cooked veggies. Cold meat and salad doesn't do it for me. I don't like cold water either, I always fill my bottle from the hot tap.
So today I am having a hot lunch. I'll eat those veggies I left behind yesterday with my chicken warmed up. And my snacks will be a toasted grainy muffin with chicken, cottage cheese, and sprouts (1/2 a muffin for each meal). Then I think leftover curry is on the menu tonight - after I have worked out.
I always feel more satisfied with hot food than cold too. I like salads but they never seem like a "real" meal to me.
ReplyDeleteI'm the same salads just never appeal to me. Sometimes I'll eat them feel ok etc but yet I'll bve wanting to eat something more satisfying again sooner than if I had eaten a hot meal.
