Non Scale Victories

With my self imposed ban on reporting on how much weight I've lost and gained [which is usually the same 2 kgs] it is difficult to think of things to celebrate [sad I know]. In the weight loss world we call all the other stuff NSVs -- non scale victories.

So here's a couple from me
- tonight I ate bread - B.R.E.A.D. It was spelt and rye bread as I am wheat sensitive but I ate two small slices, then cut up the rest of the loaf and put it in the freezer. I ate a trigger food and stopped at a normal portion.
- I felt like pumpkin soup [it's getting cold at night] and although on paper, this seems like a carb nightmare [soup with the aforementioned bread], I ate pumpkin soup. Yum!! Filled me up and didn't have anything else afterwards. Healthy food, no guilt, what I wanted not what I felt I should have [more bloody meat/fish/chicken].
- went to the Doctor on the weekend to get my contraception sorted out [whole other story about Depo Provera ... ] and had my blood pressure taken. The result = 110/70. I am no doctor but I think that is damn healthy for a 42 year old!

Day 2 completed -- clean for 2 days. Clean is a great word for me -- clean eating, clean from addictive exercise and addictive eating.

CLEAN
~free from dirt; unsoiled; unstained: She bathed and put on a clean dress.
~free from foreign or extraneous matter: clean sand.
~free from pollution; unadulterated; pure: clean air; clean water.
~habitually free of dirt: Cats are considered clean animals.
~characterized by a fresh, wholesome quality: the clean smell of pine.
~not ornate; gracefully spare; forceful and simple; trim; streamlined: a clean literary style; the clean lines of a ship.
~complete; unqualified: a clean break with tradition.
~morally pure; innocent; upright; honorable: to lead a clean life.
~showing good sportsmanship; fair: a clean fighter.
~inoffensive in language or content; without obscenity.
~free from defects or flaws: a clean diamond.
~free from encumbrances or obstructions.
~neatly or evenly made or proportioned; shapely; trim: a clean profile.
~made without any unanticipated difficulty or interference: The bank robbers made a clean getaway.
~Chiefly Biblical. having no physical or moral blemish or carrying no taboo so as to make impure according to the laws, esp. the dietary or ceremonial laws: a clean animal; clean persons.
~dexterously performed; adroit: a clean serve in tennis.
~(of a jump over an obstacle) made without touching the obstacle.

  2. I love your new determination!! And girl don't be afraid to celebrate those NSV---they are what really matters. I personally despise the bathroom scale. I concentrate more on the kitchen scale---that is where you get into trouble.
Good luck on your month long endevor---I look forward to following your progress.
