Get a Grip!

Yesterday's food
1149 cal
43.2g fat
115.6g protein
74.4g carbs

Weight this morning 61.4 kg

So I am 1.2kg over my "lowest weight known to man in the recent past". That's like 2.5lbs.
Get a grip girl! It's not the end of the world!

I think I am one of those freaky low carbers who do better on more carbs and less fat -- but as you know I have been wrong before!!

It makes me wonder why Protein Power suggests 55g carbs per day and keeping an eye on the fat for people who have less than 20% of their body fat to lose. Could low low carb/high fat only work if you have lots of fat cells hanging around?

Big Daddy D has been carb cycling on a 11-3 day cycle rather than a 5-2 and has been having success [I was doing 6-1]. I am going to skip the carb load this weekend and see what happens. He also suggested timing carb loads with TTOM and ovulation. Sounds really logical.

I am off to Brisbane tomorrow for a conference. Can't wait to see my very best friend. Although I didn't achieve that lean body I wanted for the occasion, in a way it is probably for the best. If I had gone to the 'famine brain' place to achieve it, I wouldn't have been able to resist the bad eating out choices for the next 5 days.

Feeling good about having the extra carbs [which is a bit of oatmeal in the morning, some skim milk and hot chocolate on cold evenings] and I am not missing the fat too much. Last night I had 5 baby potatoes -- yum! If I eat carbs I don't add any fat, but if I have no carbs I can have the fat.

To demonstrate:
B: 1 egg, 2 egg whites, 2 tablespoons oats, glass skim milk (up carbs, down fat)
L: chicken caesar salad with no croutons (down carbs, up fat)
D: steamed fish with spinach, capsicum and baby potatoes (up carbs, down fat)

Keeping away from egg yolks and red meat which Dr Eades from PP says can cause problems in some people.

Finally, I have roughly been on or under 62 kilos for a year now so I am hoping that I have a new "set point" if such a thing exists. Gives me a certain feeling of optimism that even though I have to fight to lose any more weight, my body now thinks this is normal. Even if I never make it to the magical 50's, I still look damn good!
