1. So far this month I have run 70km
2. Today I ran a new personal best. 5k in 30:44 - so close to breaking the 30 minute barrier!
3. I want to share an amazing running aid with you. fitPod is a place where you can download for free podcasts of approximately one hour of music at a set pace. For example, I started out running at 160 beats per minute and today I chose a track at 170 bpm which resulted in the faster time.
It is a bit hard to determine which tracks are which on the home page but if you subscribe through iTunes you can then search for the speed you want and download the track. It is also great for powerwalking at slower tempos.
The best part is that the music is continuous and I find that it is sort of repetitive dance music that helps you get in a meditation/zone type state. There are also tracks that have variable speeds built in to them for mixed sessions but I haven't tried any of those yet. Check it out!
