I am still eating "Paleo" every second day which means no dairy and grains. It is not my favourite way of eating because it is rather bland to eat meat and veggies at every meal so I have come up with a solution.

The Paleo Princess Pancake.

2 egg whites
1 whole egg
75-100g of fruit - canned apple or 1 medium banana
2 x tablespoons (roughly) of grated zucchini (adds no taste but gives a bit of bulk to the pancake - can be omitted)
1/2 scoop protein powder
sweetener if required
cinnamon

Mix eggs with fork
Add fruit (chopped up finely or mushed up with a fork) and zucchini
Mix in protein powder, sweetener and cinnamon

Cook in a pancake maker or in a pan - makes two pancakes. Serve with a squeeze of lemon.

Depending on the fruit (bananas have more calories than apple) the calorie count is around 250 calories with equal protein/carbs.

The trick is to make a second batch while you are cooking your breakfast that you eat as snacks later on in the day. I normally make these ones with 4 egg whites which reduces the calories to about 170. Then you feel like you are eating real food throughout the day. My other snack is fruit and almonds.

Then all that is required is to eat lean protein and a mega salad/veggies for lunch and dinner - 2 meals out of 5. Make paleo day the day you splash out on some more interesting meat - have some expensive seafood/fish for dinner, and have real chicken breast for lunch - save the tinned tuna for "normal" days.

We have found a new house to rent in North Sydney and are just waiting to see if our application is approved (say a prayer to the baby jesus/buddha/universe for us). One way or another we are moving so we started packing yesterday.

We have lived in this house for 4 years so there is a large accumulation of junk. I am being very brutal and throwing out all the stuff I don't need including most of my trashy novels, candles, cheap ornaments and clothes. All the things I haven't worn in over a year are going to St Vinnies. No more holding on to size 12, 14 or 16 clothes just in case I need them. Scary but necessary.

I need to de-clutter so this is a good excuse. It is quite liberating to fill garbage bags with all the "baggage" I've been carrying around. It is a good workout carrying all those boxes up and down the stairs too.

The only really sad thing is I will have to find a new gym and I refuse to go to F1tness F1rst. At the moment the most likely option is either Norths Leagues Club or North Sydney PCYC - both of which are reasonably priced but not quite so handy (PCYC doesn't open until 7-30am so that probably won't work). If anyone has a suggestion for a "weight lifters" gym in Nth Sydney I would love to hear it. Unfortunately I paid for a year's membership at Br0adway up front so that money will be wasted. I might still visit on the weekends though if I can.

That looks like a good recipe - I might have to give it a go at some stage this week!

I know what you mean about meat and vegies becoming a bit bland.
