I took some posing photos this morning for Coach to give me feedback. I am feeling a little better about my body today and my weight has gone down a bit even though I ate more than my allotted calories yesterday (damn Michelle mentioning licorice, I just had to have some).
Here is another peak at the bod and the suit (without a tan). This is my favourite photo and I can't quite believe it is me. I love how I look like I have boobs, I love my stomach, my front shoulder and the curve on my thigh. I have never looked like this before in my life. Coach says the best thing is that I am perfectly proportioned. I am neither top heavy or bottom heavy which is a good thing. I do have loose skin on my legs, but as no amount of eating or training will fix that at this point, I am hoping the judges don't take it as a negative but more as a tribute to how far I have come.
Can you believe that I used to be 25 kilos heavier than this for over 25 years? It just goes to prove that you can do anything you set your mind to. Honestly, if I can do it, anyone can! Who knew what was hiding under all that fat and the false belief that I was genetically a big girl.

ReplyDeleteWhen I went to PHAT camp earlier this year, one of the girls told us that she used preparation H (Hemroyd cream) on her loose skin before comps - put it on every night. Apparently it's a good temporary fix. Thought I'd pass that on in case you didn't know about it.
Every day you inspire me more and this just rocked my weekend and forced me into the gym! :) You look incredible - all your hard work is evident in those killer thighs! Go Katie! You lean Goddess!

ReplyDeleteAs a woman in her 40s and loving every workout I can squeeze in the gym, I have always believed we can look better today than we did 20 years ago. I'm still trying to inspire women to hit the free weights but it will be a long, challenging road. Worth every minute if I can convince them to visit your blog. All the best, kiddo.
