Odds and Ends

Overheard
Scene: Glebe Markets this morning
Cast: Mr and Mrs Katie, Kindly Chinese gentleman

Chinese man (to Mr Katie):
Good morning sir, can I give you a free 5 minute massage this morning?
Mr Katie:
If I barely let my wife touch me, I am hardly going to let you come anywhere near me am I?

Irony
I set out to buy a Buddha statue today so I can create a wee altar where I can meditate to make me calm and happy.
I couldn't find anything I wanted, which made me fucking annoyed!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Unfair
Why don't carrots, or apples, or spinach taste anything like hash browns or potato wedges? Why can't healthy food taste more like the crappy stuff?
Reality Check
Is there really anyone who trains daily like a madwoman, who devotes a large amount of time to working out really hard, who can survive without carbs as an ongoing lifestyle choice? I am beginning to think not.
Is there anyone out older than 30 and taller than 5'4" with a history of obesity who has managed to hit the 50's (kilos) and actually STAYED there? Please tell me how to do it ...
    Devoting a large amount of time working out really hard every day like a madwoman requires carbs!
    I guess the only madwomen who potentially live this hellish existence is the Renee Zellweggers of the world. She might have $100 million bucks and George Clooney but she looks SOOOOO hungry.
  4. I have a very buddist belief system myself and find that it works for me swimmingly. I have a big turquoise buddha in my back yard in the garden who I look at daily. Sucks about the veges doesn't it? I miss sweet potato.
