Got Ready
Yesterday's weigh in shows a slight gain but a significant body fat% loss from 17.8% to 16.8%. If the scales are to be believed I lost 0.56kg of fat and gained 0.86kg of muscle.
Yesterday I went to the Sydney Get Ready 2008 seminar with Jo Rogers and Donna Jones. I had a fabulous day even though I had to get up really early and take a really long train ride to Seven Hills.
Jo and Donna were both lovely. Jo is a former body building champion and Donna is a fitness pro currently 8 weeks out from a show in New York. They shared with us their experiences as competitors along with tricks of the trade.
There were videos, discussions, Q&A and posing practice. My muscles are very sore today.
I was the only former fat chick present, as everyone else had worked out or participated in some sport since they were pre-natal. I was also the fattest which was slighly annoying until I realised that I had an unfair advantage. I was the only girl who had ongoing experience in the field of dieting. Being unaccustomed to normal eating, I am actually eating more than I ever did in order to lean down. I suspect that everyone else has to eat less than their normal diet to shed that last bit of fat.
I also got my shoes - which I really love. I am wearing them around the house which makes my husband amused and strangely intrigued (boys!!). That's a 5 1/2 inch heel thank you very much!!
I also got fitted for my bikini but I'm not telling you what it is going to look like until the day - it will be a surprise.
Apparently I am holding a lot of water rather than fat and I have no arse. I also need to work on my shoulders. Jo did this thing to my back that made my shoulders pop out really wide but I can't work out how to do it on my own.
It was well worth the time, and I got a goody bag with T-shirts, powders and potions.
Thank you Jo and Donna for a wonderful day - you are two amazing ladies who are wonderful and generous role models for the sport. You have inspired me!

I'm so looking forward to all this competing - sounds interesting!
ReplyDeleteYou have the same shoes as me (great taste, hey!)
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had a great time. I'm heading down to the Gold Coast this weekend for the seminar and can't wait. I wonder if Jo will show me how to make my butt look smaller!! :o)
What was the shoulder thing?
ReplyDeleteI lie/lay on yoga blocks (a lot) to open my shoulders.
If you are interested in me decribing this (in detail) I will - let me know.
your shoes are cute - your feet look great.
Vickie - she flattened/tucked my scapula in somehow and sort of rolled the tops of my shoulder so the muscle moved up and out.
ReplyDeleteDoes that make any sense at all??
'No arse' is a common problem. *boohoo* Been working hard on mine!
ReplyDeleteLove the shoes....
