T minus 76 - Breaking through the Wall

Weight : 60.1 kg
Yesterday's food : You have used 1296 out of your net daily budget of 1500 calories and have 204 calories remaining. 22% of the calories are from fat, 38% from protein, 40% from carbs
Exercise : Spin Class
42 min : 316 calories : 163 max hr : 146 av hr

In the movie "Run Fat Boy Run" the main character hits the "wall" during a marathon. There is a wonderful image of a solid high brick wall with one brick missing in the middle. When he looks through the gap he can see himself on the other side, beckoning him through. Then he runs at the wall with all his might and smashes right through it.

That wall is the number 60 on the scales. Today I am 200 grams away from 59.x.

This week I will SMASH through the wall! I have stopped eating dairy and I have taken Coloxyl (because I need to get "things" moving, not purely as a weight loss measure!). I will do this. Just you wait and see ...

    HI Katie,

you are going brilliantly! Such strong focus! Hope the coloxyl helps. Do you eat oats for breakfast? Sometimes they can help. Make sure you drink lots of water with the coloxyl.
You will drop under 60 this week I am sure. I haven't made my mind up on this daily weigh in thing yet - I haven't learnt to ignore the scales yet.

  3. Hi Katie

Have you tried psyllium husks? They are a natural fibre product and can work wonders. As with the coloxyl just make sure you drink lots of water. Swells in your tummy and eases hunger too!

Bit hard to get down in water. Just hold your nose and swallow.

Hope ALL things get moving for you soon, scales included.

  4. Thanks for the ideas

Chris - the coloxyl is a tablet because I don't do medicine :) Yuk
    Andj - I have 1/4 - 1/3 cup oats every morning
ss2306 - I have used psyllium husks in the past mixed into everything including breakfast pancakes and yogurt but they don't seem to make any difference
    .
I am well and truly bunged up!
The only think that worked was Herbalax but I don't want to take it all the time.

Hey Katie, you'll make it this weekend. If coloxyl doesn't work as it only softens things up really, doesn't move things along much, then try a tea called senna klenz from healthfood shop. Tastes quite foul but if I put a bit of splenda in its drinkable. Be carefull as leaving the bag to steep too long could cause problems. Not for regular use, but will move things. Another thing you could try is Movicol. Available from the chemist, quite expensive but much nicer than the above. Read the instructions and make sure you have enough water with it. You don't get the farts or the cramps you can get with other aperients.
